Setup instructions for setting up a Adbrand using an LCD & a standard computer CPU
Before proceeding ensure that the LCD & the CPU meet the basic standards of a Adbrand. Check the “What is the basic standard of a Adbrand? under the FAQ section for more information.
Step 1: Unpack the LCD Screen and the CPU. Ensure that you have the following accessories for the units.
- Power supply cable for the CPU.
- Power supply cable for the LCD screen.
- VGA (video) cable for connecting the CPU to LCD and
- Set of screws.
Step 2: Install or position the LCD Screen strategically, so that it is clearly visible to the patrons at your premises. Ideally the screen should be installed at least 6 feet from the ground with 3 feet clearance around it. The screen could be wall mounted or hanging from the ceiling or stand mounted. If the LCD is purchased from Adbrand , please follow the installation guide sent along with the LCD screen to mount the Adbrand. If the LCD is procured from an external source refer to the manufacturer’s manual.
Step 3: Connect the LCD screen to the power supply using the power cable provided with the LCD. Refer to the LCD manual for guidance.
Step 4: Setup the CPU & position it at a convenient location so that it is easy to connect a Keyboard & a mouse during the Adbrand activation process and during troubleshooting of any issues. Connect the CPU to the power supply. Refer to the manual supplied with the CPU for guidance.
Step 5: Connect the LCD to the CPU using the VGA Cable. Connect one end of the VGA cable into the blue VGA port of LCD and the other end to the blue VGA port of the CPU. To locate the VGA ports on the LCD & CPU refer to the respective user manuals.
Step 6: Connect the Internet cable jack into the network port present on the CPU. If you intend to use wireless internet through a USB device then connect the USB device to the USB port on the CPU.
Step 7: Connect a Keyboard & a computer Mouse to the CPU and ensure that all cables are secure. Check to see if the main power to the LCD & CPU is switched on. Turn on the LCD and the CPU.
Step 8: Connect to the internet. Ensure you have an active internet connection, before proceeding with the activation.
Step 9: Download the Adbrand client software & install the client software on the Adbrand. To download & install the client software, follow the instructions on the Adbrand – Approval Confirmation email sent to you after your registration approval or view the From where can I download the Adbrand client application & how to install it? in the FAQ section.
Step 10: After installing the client application on the system, please run the application from the windows start menu. When you run the application for the first time, you will see an image similar to the one given below.
Step 11: Enter the Adbrand ID & the Activation Code sent in the Adbrand – Approval Confirmation email, in the designated fields and click on ‘Activate’ Button.
Final Step: On successful activation, the Adbrand will begin a count down as shown in the image below. On completing the countdown, the Adbrand will start displaying non-commercial Adbrand default videos, confirming proper setup of your Adbrand.
The Adbrand setup process is now complete. The Keyboard & mouse can be disconnected. The Adbrand will receive the latest ads scheduled for it and will start displaying them as soon as possible.
Remember:
- It is important to have continued active internet connection for the Adbrand, for it to remain active on the network. You will not earn credit for the display of Ads when your internet connection is inactive.
- The Adbrand is programmed to automatically shutdown at the end of the day, hence be sure to turn on the Adbrand on the next day when the business starts.
